Hmmm...Everyone needs a "Sales Story" and you pretty much need to develop that yourself. Your sales story is what you provide when someone asks.."What do you do?" Very few know the importance of having a good sales story at your fingertips at all times.

When creating your elevator speech make sure it is short and to the point.
    Who are you?
Company name/Office location? what areas do you service?
    your bait?
I really enjoy helping business owners (Fill in the blank)...... OR I pride myself on ( state a quality that you have that makes you a great Factor to help them)
What is your need? (who/what are you looking for) An ideal lead for me would be anyone who was a small business owner in need of .( fill in the blank with own words you are comfortable with) ... I am always interested to talk with business owners to see if I can be of asistance.

When meeting new prospects always get contact info and give yours (business cards, LinkedIN etc.) if the conversation is going well advise you would like to follow up with them in a day or so to meet for coffee.

Awesome pitch Bruce! Do you have any thoughts on a cold calling script or strategy?

    You could also add...

Hello Bruce nice elevator speech! It is just enough information to 'peek their interest' At the end always ask for their business card and offer yours. If they show interest go ahead and close them for a follow-up appointment a one on one setting maybe over a coffee. The purpose of this appointment is to get to know them and their business and how you can help them. good luck!
